A Platform for Men’s Mental Health That Makes Sense

In Australia, 1 in 8 men will experience depression, and 1 in 5 will experience anxiety during their lifetime.

And yet, around 63% of men who face mental health challenges never reach out for support.

It’s not that men don’t want support — it’s that most of what’s out there doesn’t make sense to them. When the options feel forced, impersonal, or disconnected from real life, most blokes just shut it down and keep pushing through.

That’s how things slip. That’s how it gets dangerous.

Seven men take their own lives every single day in Australia.
Something clearly isn’t working — and it’s costing lives.

The Barefoot Project is a platform built for men who feel like nothing out there really fits. We’ve stripped away the jargon and focused on what actually helps — structure, action, and grounded support that works with the way men think and operate.

If you’re feeling flat, overloaded, disconnected, or just know something needs to shift — this is a place to start.  Not just with talk therapy or clinical scripts, but with real strategies, practical tools, and individual programs that help you reset and move forward.

The Barefoot Project was built off the back of over a decade of professional experience in men’s mental health and private sector support.

After years working with blokes who felt let down or overlooked by the system, it became clear: most mental health services just weren’t made with men in mind.

So we built something different.

No clinical coldness. No therapy jargon. Just straightforward, practical support — whether it’s through the 28-Day Reset & Rebuild program, full-day paddle workshops, or one-on-one catch-up sessions that meet you where you’re at.

Everything we offer is designed to feel real, useful, and easy to engage with.

All sessions are delivered outdoors, because we know blokes think clearer, talk easier, and feel more grounded when they’re not stuck between four walls.

At the core of it is a simple belief: private mental health care should be accessible. That’s why we’ve created flexible options and straightforward services that put respect, trust, and real results first.

This isn’t about fixing blokes. It’s about walking alongside them, offering structure, tools, and clear steps to help them take back control — in a way that fits real life.
